This is the final long stretch until the end of the year, and we are excited to hit the ground running. I hope all of the students had a fun, and restful, spring break-I am excited to hear their stories.
A few reminders: *Milestones Testing will start on Tuesday, April 10th- attendance is very important during this testing period! Check out the DOE's resources to learn more about the Milestones Assessment: Parent Resource/Study Guide Look at what we are learning this week: Students will be taking the ELA sections of the EOG Assessment starting Tuesday. Although this will take up part of our instructional time, we are still planning on covering some new content this week. We will also be sure to get up and MOVE as much as we can after having to sit still for so long. Math: Geometry! We will be diving into shapes this weekend, specifically quadrilaterals. Students will be looking at the attributes of different shapes and how to classify them. Reading: We have such a fun reading/writing unit planned for the next few weeks revolving around fairy tales. Students will be looking at the different parts of fairy tale stories (and fractured fairy tales). We are starting off by looking at three different versions of Rapunzel this week! Writing: This week students are going to be introduced to cursive writing. Students will learn how to produce the different cursive strokes by tracing letters with dry-erase markers, pens, and pencils.
